The Red Forest
The Red Forest is one of the most contaminated areas in the world.
The book consists of scientific texts, data on radioactivity exposure levels, what they do to a human body and the history of the Chornobyl Catastrophe.
The other part is a collection of hand-made and manually developed photograms.
To me the process of creating photograms is visually similar to radioactive exposure. The illustrations have the laboratory and dangerous feel, they have unnatural mutated colours and and it looks as if x-rays have been enlightened through them.
