Intermezzo
My Intermezzo book is a visualization of poetry and protest, which Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky expressed in his novel.
The book is dramatically divided into three structural parts, which differ by the background colour: grey for depression, white for recovery and black for anger. The novel is monological, that is why I highlighted all the questions in the book.
Illustrations are mosaic and fragmental, supporting the impressionist character of the text. I combined many techniques there: scanning, painting, photography, monotyping, collaging and digital postproduction.
It was important for me to convey the sharp change of mood of the lyrical hero and the contrast of the world around him.
